A call

Hold up your mirror rattle your cage reflect the sun and sing your rage, Cry and weep and gargle and snot, and fuck and snarl and loose the clot

Entertain us and sing off key, all the better! and make a clamorous mess, just don’t waste our time or yours performing, predictably conforming, your story to all the rest

Quiet, fire, harsh hellish breath, breathe you dragon breathe! Scorch us and engulf the world! Heave and ho and seethe!

All respect to the Old Testament, giants in those days, men of courage conquering, not so plebeian in their ways.

We need our heroes smart and bold and jealous and mean and hot and cold. We need our villains all the same for the tiny minds and ears to blame.

Why this meekness grey and soft, where do the men of highness loft? Asleep perhaps for violent artist tire of girls turned men with hearts afire

But shake your branches one and all, burn the bridges, burn the mall. Incivility for a time, unconquer Rome, undo that crime.

“Might!” I shout! Rebel the drought, this truly do we seek, for humans all too human, we hide so long we seek.
