In the future, a man driven to madness by repression of will, like many men before him, will drive a truck into a crowd, and he will be the last man to do such a thing. The deep psychological need for safety —all danger having been removed from society— will see the collective demand, knowingly at the cost of their own autonomy, that only driverless cars should be allowed on roadways, and their governments will happily oblige them.
In future it will become increasingly faux pas to use the word or consider the remnant of the self as “I.”
