Last shadow of the night
Pixels burned, pigment turned
Orange on eggshell walls
What have you done today
but follow me ’round
hanging on for dear, mirrored life?
Its the first time I saw you
today—tonight
No campfire, no long sun,
But we’re in your place now
There’s more of you than me
here in the dark
And where are your gunmen,
your accountants, and such?
What troubles you troubles me
Take heart us both,
here she comes,
the morrow’ and her night
To your benevolence,
I appeal
Let us both be untroubled
Let us aim at mutual slumber
this side and that
Oh let us never speak
If you are me
and I you back
May we both take high ground
Tomorrow I will pay you
fees of attention
But I must sleep
Tired promises
we each remember
Are you not God?
You haunt
You stick
You shadow!
